An Extraordinary Life
An Extraordinary Life
The story of Jesus takes place in the first century AD, at the height of the Roman Empire’s domination. If this is your first encounter with this extraordinary character, you’ll be struck by the depth of his teachings. He was driven by a passion that defined him; a love without hypocrisy. All who met him could not remain indifferent, and many were changed forever by his presence. You’ll be amazed by his words, astounded by his compassion, and astonished by his great humility.
His determination to make God known pitted him against the religious system of his day. In the end, it would cost him his life. The jealousy of religious leaders, the duplicity and betrayal of a friend, the cowardice of civil authorities, the lies of bribed witnesses, the corruption of the political class – all these factors bring us to the climax: the atrocious and unjust death of Jesus of Nazareth. But wait! An unexpected twist will surprise the reader, for his story doesn’t end with death!

Fusion: the Gospels as you've never seen them before
The life of Jesus is told in the Gospels – Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. The present work merges these four biblical books into one seamless narrative, while respecting the chronological order and preserving the words found in each of them. If you’ve been familiar with the Gospels for any length of time, this presentation will certainly make you see the story of the man from Galilee in a whole new light.
It’s with great pleasure that we invite you to discover An Extraordinary Life!
A long-term project
In order to merge the 4 Gospels into a single narrative, we :
- invested hundreds of hours
- taken into account the intentions of the authors Matthew, Mark, Luke and John
- compiled the New Testament texts in chronological order
- included everything from the 4 Gospels, while eliminating repetition
- repeatedly consulted the original Greek texts
- consulted dozens of scholarly commentaries on the Bible
- took into account numerous pre-existing translations of the Gospels, including a dozen in French
- chose language that was simple and accessible to all
- carried out more than one linguistic revision
We have also added footnotes, a glossary and an index at the end, as well as two geographical maps to make the text easier to understand.
Determining the chronology of Jesus’ deeds is not an exact science, but every decision during the process was weighed and matured, and we’re proud of the final result.
